Category: Let's talk
I am currently working on an accessibility project, and I would greatly appreciate it if as many people as possible would state what their primary screen reading software is. Thank you
My screen readers are orca and speakup.
I use Jaws for the most part, but use NVDA in situations where jaws won't read something. Sometimes, one reader will read when the other won't.
Voiceover
JAWS 15
I use Jaws 15 and NVDA about equally.
Jaws 16 beta currently. I use Jaws all the time.
NVDA
NVDA
Using NVDA and if I need JAWS, I'll run it in demo mode. That's for the PC, but I am most
often on my iPad with VoiceOver.
NVDA for 90% of PC, and JAws for the rest. Voiceover for most of the time as i'm using Mac as my primary computer, and voiceover for other portable technology
WindowEyes 8.whatever. Voiceover on the Mac side. Hope to be using more Voiceover in future especially now that I'm considering an Iphone 6.
Jaws 13 and nvda.
Jaws 15 and have used jaws since one of the first versions came out.
I use VoiceOver for Mac OS X and IOS.
On the odd occasions that I use windows these days, I use Jaws and NVDA
about equally.
I use JAWS 15 and Zoomtext at work, JAWS 15, Magic and occasionally NVDA at home.
for windows, jaws and nvda for back-up and voiceover for mac and ios...
Jaws since 1998.
NVDA for the PC and Voiceover for portable devices!
NVDA on pc and voiceover on the phone.
Jaws primary
NVDA secondary
I used JAWS since the late 90's until the late 2000's. Then since around 2009, I used NVDA primarily, plus JAWS demo or SA To Go as needed. Now since August of this year, I'm using System Access as my primary, and I also have and use JAWS 15.
I do still have and get updates for NVDA on a flash drive though. And I have and use VoiceOver for my phone.
I use VoiceOver on iOS devices. I use JAWS 99% of the time on PC, although I have NVDA installed and open it in a pinch if JAWS is not cutting it in a certain situation.
I use JAWS mostly and occasionally use NVDA. Use voiceover with the iPhone.
Forgot about portable devices. All VoiceOver due to these being Apple products.
JAWS 11 on one laptop, JAWS 14 on the other.
Voiceover on my iPhone.
NVDA as needed.
SATOGO when I'm desperate.
JAWS 15 only on PC, unless I'm at someone's house who does not use JAWS or any other synthesizer. Then I use system access to go. I've never been in a situation where JAWS doesn't work, but another synthesizer does.
Mobile device: voiceover.
VoiceOver
Use jaws 15 on my pc at home and work. Use VO on my iPhone and soon to be iPad.
It's interesting that no one answering seems to use Window Eyes. I don't use it either but know people who do. Also, now that Microsoft has struck a deal with GWMicro, I'd think more people would use it.
That is untrue. I utilize Window eyes as my my backup and at least one other individual did claim window eyes as a primary screen reader. There are not many of us though.
My primary two are Jaws12 and voiceover. ON the windows box, Window-eyes is my first choice for backup, than NVDA
I am using nvda on the computer and talkback on my nexus5 phone.
Yep, me toooooo! I'm a window eyes user! I did use jaws for a time, bfind I'm quite happy with window eyes.
Looking into system access again, as I am not a huge fan of nvda.
Jaws 16 most of the time on my pc. Got nvda installed on there to though.
